Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great political gossip   December 1, 2008

Adam Boulton's book is the best sort of political gossip - accurate but entertaining. I thought it was the most open and revealing commentary on UK politics since Alan Clark's diaries. It's a must for anyone wanting an unbiased insight into Blair's premiership. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

5 out of 5 stars ADAM BOULTON'S BOOK ON BLAIR   November 20, 2008

At last - a book written by someone who had a ringside seat throughout the rise and fall of Blair and, unlike Alastair Campbell, Cherie and the rest of the them, does not have an axe to grind. Just as he does on Sky News, Adam tells it like it is. The fact that Alastair Campbell has subsequently slagged Adam off should tell you just how accurate this account is. Loved it. Put it on your Christmas wish list today.

4 out of 5 stars A great read by Adam Boulton   December 2, 2008

This book is much better than political diaries, which merely document the diarists thoughts. Boulton gives a well thought-out commentary alongside some fabulous gossipy titbits on Tony Blair and the characters who surrounded him. The fact that the author was an impartial observer makes it a more believable and honest account.

3 out of 5 stars Nothing really new in this - but worth a read.   October 4, 2008

I was looking forward to Adam Boultons book, as it has been plugged so widely on Sky News ! Pre ordered it and yes i did enjoy it. It is well written, insightful, and does what it says on the packet - BUT - Where it falls down is when you compare it with others, for example Campbells book, which is, in my humble view, in a different league. Theres nothing new in it, nothing that hasnt already been said before. Nevertheless, worth a read now the nights are drawing in. My overall rating - it's OK!
