5 out of 5 stars a brilliant summary of the field of international relations!   February 16, 2000

I am a first year student at university studying international relations. If you want to know everything you need to know about any of the 'big names' in the field, this is the right book for you! The book covers realists, liberals, critical theorists, postmodernists, historical sociologists, and thinkers on nationalism. It also includes a handy guide to further reading for each key thinker. Brill!

5 out of 5 stars Handy refernece guide on the top scholars in IR   April 2, 2001

I have really enjoyed this book by Griffiths, mainly because it made it a lot easier to finish my final essay in my second-year topic in International Relations. The book saves you a lot of time because it summarises the main thinkers in IR in a way that avoids lots of jargon. If you enjoy the pub more than the library but still want a good mark, this is the book for you.
